Mentally Tough Tennis was co-founded by Dr. Anthony Ross, a psychologist and former Pepperdine All-American and Wimbledon competitor, alongside Pat Flynn, a 50+ Australian singles champion and one of the highest rated UTR players for his age globally, who is also a teacher and tennis parent. Dr. Ross has dedicated the past 15 years to enhancing his expertise in the mental aspects of tennis, aiding players, parents, and coaches alike. Throughout his career, Anthony has worked with a diverse range of players from beginners to USA singles gold ball winners, Australian national junior champions, Wimbledon junior champions, Junior world #1’s, Australian high school championship teams, NCAA championship players, and ATP/WTA tour title winners.Additionally, Anthony has mentored numerous coaches, including those of top 10 ATP/WTA players and coaches from two of the top three most improved Division 1 NCAA men's teams in 2015—Virginia Tech (VT) and TCU—as well as North Carolina in 2020. As a researcher, he has focused extensively on parental influence in developing mental toughness in tennis, including a collaboration with Tennis Australia to create and complete a parent education program that has been empirically proven to enhance children's competitive responses. This course is available on CoachLife under Anthony's name.Anthony’s CoachLife content offers a wealth of valuable resources, including videos on managing anger, overcoming choking, debunking myths about positive affirmation and mental imagery, understanding conditional versus unconditional confidence, developing the ultimate player psyche, and strategies for handling nerves and anxiety while promoting acceptance. The content is organized into two parts: the first delves into the theory and provides actionable advice, while the second offers on-court drills that players can practice with their coaches to improve in these critical tennis psychology areas
